John Blanchard appointed as Dean of the UAS School of Management Effective June 3

From Provost Rick Caulfield: 

With approval from Chancellor Pugh, I’m announcing the appointment of John Blanchard as our new Dean, UAS School of Management (SOM), effective June 3, 2012.

John Blanchard currently serves as the School’s interim dean.  [After a long search process], SOM faculty and staff [were consulted] about the possibility of inviting Interim Dean Blanchard to transition into the regular dean position. The response from faculty and staff was favorable. Moreover, deans, staff, and faculty across our three campuses who’ve worked with John spoke of his strong management skills, his collegial leadership style, and his commitment to building quality programs. I have had the privilege of working with John in his Interim Dean role, and I heartily concur with this assessment.

John’s new assignment as dean will include teaching one accounting course on a regular basis each semester during the academic year. Please join me and Chancellor Pugh in welcoming John Blanchard into his new role!
