Excerpt: "The Kenai River Campus will hold its 42nd commencement ceremony at 7 p.m., May 15, at Kenai Central High School's Renee C. Henderson auditorium. KRC chooses valedictorians from the two major academic divisions at the college. David Duncan, graduating with his general business associate of applied science degree, is the Business & Industry valedictorian, and Melissa Humphrey, earning her associate of arts degree, is the Arts & Sciences valedictorian.

The keynote speaker at the commencement will be Linda Swarner, executive director of the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank and a KPC alumna. Swarner earned her Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast in 2010, attending the bulk of the courses at KRC via satellite transmission from Juneau.

UA President Patrick Gamble, UAA Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Michael Driscoll and Regents Carl Marrs, Dale Anderson and Tim Brady will participate in the ceremony.

The KRC Student Services, with assistance by the Student Union, will provide a reception for the graduates and their families in the auditorium lobby immediately following the ceremony."
