In 1995, Chuck began his teaching career at the University of Alaska Southeast. Drawing from his extensive practical knowledge of power technology and his hands-on approach with his students, it became evident that Chuck had an innate gift for teaching. He has spent the last 17 years instructing power technology, hydraulics, and electrical system courses. Chuck was a tenured Associate Professor and the Program Head of Diesel Technology. In 2000, Chuck was honored as the Alaska Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. He was instrumental in expanding the curriculum of the Diesel Technology Program at UAS.
